The apps
Simple PDF. Simple PDF works entirely on your Mac. It does not collect, send or share any information about you, your documents or how you use it.
Simple Mail. Simple Mail connects directly to the mail providers you add. Your mail, passwords and contacts stay on your Mac and with those providers; we never receive them.
Diskwatch. Diskwatch measures your disk on your Mac. It does not collect, send or share anything about you or your files.
Once a day, the apps download two small files from this website: one to check for a new version, and one with messages from us (for example when a new app is out). Downloading an app or these files is handled like any other visit to this website, as described under Hosting.
Anonymous usage, only if you allow it. Each app asks once whether it may tell us that it's in use. If you allow it, the app sends PostHog (see Analytics) one signal a day with the app's name and version, your macOS version and the type of processor, under a random number made only for this. Nothing about you, your files or what you do in the app. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with Share Anonymous Usage in the app's menu, which also deletes the random number.
Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, provided by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website or download an app, GitHub processes your IP address and technical information such as your browser and the time of the request in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Learn more in GitHub's privacy statement.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how our website is used, for example which pages are visited, which links are clicked, how far people scroll, where visitors come from and how fast the pages load. PostHog is provided by PostHog Inc., and our data is stored on PostHog's servers in the EU.
Without your consent, we only count visits anonymously. Nothing is stored on your device. PostHog derives a temporary identifier from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so a visitor cannot be recognised across days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in basic, privacy-friendly statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
With your consent, PostHog also stores a cookie on your device so we can recognise return visits. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw your consent at any time under , which deletes the cookie.

How long we keep data
We keep analytics data for up to one year and then delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. To use any of these rights, email us at privacy@diskwatch.app. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
